Well the only real reason to play at such high BPMs (aside from a fractured thought-process) is to have more divisions of the beat. Instead of playing on the 1 and 2 beat at 170 (about 1/2 of 357), he may play on the down beat of each measure...but then when he wants to scare people, he can place an extremely fast drum fill/crazy buzzy sounds in there because of the extreme beat subdivision. 357 BPM IS A bit extreme, but then again we're talking Tom Jenkinson here... I sometimes compose at 260 when I really want the tune to be at 130 - for the reasons stated above...but 357? Only the Pusher can get away with that.
