I'm going to answer you just as though it was a reasonable question.
You're taking it a bit to literally -- the mailing list was named by
Alan Parry a long time ago, when it seemed apt to him. Since then we're
stuck with it. It's not a offshoot of Mensa.
I, for one, would prefer a more neutral term like Electronic Listening
Music, to distinguish it from pure DJ tools.
And as for scenesterism, face it man: everyone's looking for a place
to belong in this world. I might suggest that flame trolls can't really
ever belong -- they're always going to be sniping from the margins.
Why do you always try and piss people off?
