This type of idea has been kicked around on this list before...in fact, about
a year ago, Alex from Toast and Jam records began accepting submissions for
the "Soap Scum" (working title) compliation, with the idea being that each
artist would sample music that they *really dislike* and use
sampling/manipulation/dsp techniques to turn this execrable tripe into
something worth listening to.
Like a good Kumquat, I dutifully went out and bought some used Kenny G
records (a rip-off at 50 cents each) and began to sonically torture that
ass-clown. I sent a couple of tracks to Alex. I believe V/VM and some other
notables were slated to contribute.
Anyone got an update on the status of Soap Scum?

By the way, I'm still, yes still, sending out the last remains of my big
batch of kumquat cd's *free* to those on this list who ask. It's funky
sampladelica. See the above url for details and mp3's.
New kumquat cd slated for release in late 2000.
