well i haven't heard the live set so i'm shooting blind but my theory on mouse on mars is you gotta give them the benefit of the doubt for the first few listens and then suddenly it'll all snap into place and you realize they are die Deutchegeniusen ... usually anyway. anyway the albums/singles that i eat up with a spoon are Autoditacker (now playing!) which is like mousey-housey (hehehe) lots of kewl bleeps and skittery breaks and also the Instrumentals EP which is absolutely amazing. Also I am quite taken with the Prickly Dread Rhizzoms 12" on sonig and the Diskdusk 12" on Thrill Jockey which are both a touch more experimental than the LPs. The new album is also pretty fine, but for a first time listener, i'd definitely put forth Autoditacker. josh -- String Theory : Digital Music for Humans http://www.enteract.com/~yoshi/index.cgi On Wed, 7 Jun 2000 Evan@mmlive.com wrote:
