Or doesn't exist at *all* if you don't live in North America. Not to point fingers, but it really amazes me how insular people can be when it comes to stuff like this. Americans are particularily notorious for this sort of thing, but I've seen similar attitudes in people from other countries as well (including right here in Canada): the assumption that everything in the rest of the world is exactly like it is at home, so doing something like sending out greetings regarding an American holiday to an international forum seems totally normal to them. I once had a discussion with a U.S. resident who couldn't understand why we didn't celebrate the 4th of July in Canada. I then told him that we have a 1st of July holiday instead, and that just confused him even further. Sigh.
