You're probable talking about Etherea. It's on Avenue A between 5th and
6th. Everyone who works there is pretty nice. They're responsible for the
Invisible Cities weekly which has really been a boon here.
And Mondo Kim's on St. Marks shouldn't be overlooked. They have tons of
great stuff, usually getting it before others. The manager there is
extremely knowledgable and helpful.
Other is also good, but usually the last place I look. They have no
incentive to keep their prices low, since if you don't buy there someone
else will. And because they do so much business it's hard for them to help
everyone as well as other places, though they do try. Don't even think
about fighting your way in there on a weekend.
