Funny you ask this, but the answer is yes, BoC does make me think of a particular time in my life. It makes me think of my distant childhood in the early 70s - the fragmented voices of adults and (mostly) children sound like they found a technique to record the mental sounds of distant memories. The evolving, somewhat funky beats and vague, unfinished twinkling melodies evoke the experiences of being awash in (but not understanding) the music and culture of the era. It's like being in the ghostly ruins of a media culture, as perceived by a blind infant. At least that's how it sounds to me. -Cf ' - . _ . - ' ^ ' - . _ . - ' ^ ' - . _ . - c h r i s t ø p h e r f ª h e y . _ . - ' ^ ' - . _ . - ' ^ ' - . _ . - ' ^ chrisf@raremedium.com 2 1 2 - 6 3 4 - 6 9 5 0 x 2 5 8 http://www.raremedium.com - ' ^ ' - . _ . - ' ^ ' - . _ . - ' ^ ' - .
