I can't say much about JHNO by himself since I've only heard his solo
stuff once (the album KWNO). I do, however, very highly recommend his
collaboration project with John Ridenour called Spool. As far as I know,
they have only one album, but it is incredible. It was recommended to me
at a local record shop by an employee who put it in his top 3 favorite
albums along with Boards of Canada/Music Has... and Global Comm./7614
which are also two of my all time favorites. He went a step further by
saying that Spool was his favorite of the three. While I wouldn't go that
far, I do consider it to be one of the best cds I've bought this year.
I'm not going to attempt to write a review of the cd, but I will say it
has somewhat of a global comm. feel to it in places without being
anything of an imitation. I'm actually surprised I haven't seen anything
about it on this list, unless it was discussed before I joined.
