Talk and Human League. Never! What's more, I'll even mix it shoddily with the previously mentioned
DJ Assault.. I guess the point of ghetto bass is its total lack of pretense? That, and a sense of
humor (now that isn't IDM at all, is it?) "Intelligent Dance Music"; what a funny attempt to
categorize what could just as easily be called "A Broad Style/Styles of Electronic Music We Happen
to Like". It's long-winded (And THAT is 100% IDM) but at the same time it's lacking that inherent
feeling of superiority and self-satisfaction I get when I refer to my record collection as
"intelligent". Try describing other tastes in this manner and see how silly it sounds: "What
should we have for dinner?" "Oh, I don't know.. Something intelligent!"
How droll..
