YOU SAID IT !!! And that's where the money goes ... Personally I don't do too much 'blind' shopping and try to have as much information / reviews / .ra clips before placing a mail-order, or else I try to get a few minutes of listening time in-store. I obviously still make mistakes and buy based on spur-of-the-moment decisions, which I later am disappointed by. The only blind buying I'm inclined to do is a follow-up album by an artist whose other work I like or a side-project. I have, on occasion, ordered in the dark and come up with bad apples... never rotten entirely, but gathering dust unplayed in a corner.
