yeppers, appartently silence is on both versions. someone (alex?) suggested that the silence makes more sense if you put the entire disc on repeat - the 10 minutes of silence offer a brief respot and then the noise at the very end warms you up for the 1st track. i dunno, haven't tried this yet. anyways, i personally didn't get into lp5 as much as i did chiastic. i suppose i felt that cs put me in a more specific time and place while lp5 sounded really neat but didn't have any emotional effect on me. a couple of tracks (3rd and 7th) are indeed quite wonderful but as a whole it just did congeal... yet. ethan
