Sakamoto was one of the founding members of the Yellow Magic
Orchestra. If I'm not totally confused, he also scored the
*excellent* soundtrack to the excellent movie "Merry Christmas
Mr. Lawrence" with himself acting opposite David Bowie. Quite
harrowing.
He's also turned out some sickly poppy stuff - so listen before you
buy.
