Hold your laughter for just a min. (then you can laugh for a good hour). I remember hearing sven vath for the first time in high school, when I was still reluctant to even listen to electronic music. I remember him being wonderful and ambient and dark and analog bubbely. He was one of the very few albulms my roommate owned that we could both listen to. (I remember the experience as sounding AE like). I found The Harlequin, The Robot & The Ballet Dancer in a used bin over the break ($1.95) and bought it. I have never been sooo disenchanted!!! How could my memories be so far off!! The albulm was next to trash (I'd still listen to it over comercial radio but that's about it). (actually it was good to fall asleep to on the plane). How can an artist as well remembered in my mind sound so terrible to me now? Are there any redeeming qualities to this artist? Have I just picked the cheeziest albulm he ever made? Do you also find that you have artists like this in your foggy memories?
