It's heavier, so there's more friction and it's harder to move it around with your fingers. If you're backqueing the records you can sometimes even cause the platter to spin backwards. That's a pain. I'd still rather have heavy vinyl - I have too many skinny records that are warped! Has anyone ever experimented with slipmats that have some kind of serious lubrication on the back? bbn
