I haven't heard the new disc(s), but having a lot of his unreleased tapes
and having played with him at some gigs, I'd describe his '95-97 stuff
as being dark FSOL-like, uh, "beatscapes", similar to FSOL in that there
are beautiful and/or dark ambient passages between carefully-programmed
techno beats. If Drew is playing with Dave, he'll create some really nice
atmospheric sounds on bass and synth (and sometimes dige..)
Not Breathing's cd covers show Dave's obsession with devil-nymph-women
(whatever, dave!) but don't let that mislead you about what the music is
like, there is no satanic chants or Whitehouse therein!
