Some exciting news from the Mouse on Mars/Vulvaland
discussion list.
Here are some things that MoM cohort Frank Dommert
had to say...
+ MoM. never use a DAT machine in concert, although they do trigger some
album elements with a sampler. Mouse on Mars strive to provide a live
show in a traditional "rock" manner, which means that "the audience is
part of the show and that things come together in real-time and in an
unrepeatable and unpredictable manner."
+ MoM do not consider Yamo nor Loophole any kind of side projects.
+ Niun Niggun Japan and USA are identical and both differ from the
European version in artwork, track selection and track order. MoM's
preferred version is the Japanese/USA one, and the double vinyl contains
all tracks of both versions except "circloid bricklett sprüngli."
+ All tracks on the forthcoming Sonig compilation are exclusive.
+ Sonig 10, which should be out soon, will be improvisers, a microstoria
live vinyl LP. A new studio album by microstoria will follow in Autumn.
+ Other forthcoming Sonig releases are: Vert, C-Schulz & Hajsch, F.X.
Randomiz, Dü, Scratch Pet Land and Mouse on Mars Instrumentals CD with
bonus track. (!!!)
+ the pre-mouse on mars group that featured jan st.werner, f.x.randomiz
and josef suchy called "four square logos" had one 7" on gefriem and one
track on an erfolg tape which featured live recordings of an
a-musik/erfolg/gefriem evening by schlammpeitziger, pol, four square
logos and dies duene blad.
+ The Lithops 7-inch on Static Caravan is meant to be played at 33rpm.
+ Tonschacht is not a sub-label of A-Musik.
+ Mouse on Mars appreciate the early work of Kraftwerk, but have
"diametrically opposed" ideas about what music is.
+ sack/blumm will release a full length album on gefriem this summer.
+ There are plans for a compilation of mouse on mars singles and b-sides
on too pure for summer.
Great to have this information, and I'll be sure to forward any other
comments from Sonig to the list.
