[let's RECAP a moment...] s.f.w.d. initially reported:
quoted 2 lines V/VM, a Manchester label affiliated to Skam, have> V/VM, a Manchester label affiliated to Skam, have > a Christmas 4-track single released, featuring BoC.
and his subsequent query:
quoted 4 lines does anyone have any more info on this??> does anyone have any more info on this?? > christmas single, as in christmas songs? > or just to be released around christmas? > either way it sounds pretty good to me.
Chris @ sonicnet pondered:
quoted 5 lines Hmmm... this sounds like something like was talked about in an> Hmmm... this sounds like something like was talked about in an > interview with MaS folks in an interview located at MFR... If its > what I'm thinking about, its actually the latest Musik aus Strom 12"s > with remixes by Skam folks (BoC and Jega)... I might be wrong, but it > sure sounds like what it was... anyone know for sure?
* * * NOT to "correct", per se, just to (possibly?) clarify: (and to also continue a *wonderful* thread in my opinion) the interview (i.e. micheal fakesh) claims that funkstorung originally wanted to release a "Christmas greetings record" but that this idea developed/mutated into a "double EP" concept with TWO different funkstroung records coming out simultaneously on Skam and Musik aus Strom (to show how "closely the labels are related") now, this interview was a while ago and it made NO MENTION of the current "demon" ep's by michael fakesh. but i have a feeling that the "simultaneous double release WITH Skam" deal was nixed due to fact that the Skam "schedule" still has a BoC album, a Freeform 12" and Push Button Objects releases still on the docket. then again, a Skam "schedule" seems to mean very little these days! in short, in COMPLETE AGREEMENT with Chris, this double release sounds like the DEMON ep's, complete with JEGA and BoC (yep, Skamsters through and through) remixes. it's ironic, because the interview mentions that this DOUBLE release was going to take place after a FREEFORM ep on M.a.S. when in reality, the release (the "demon" ep's) will be taking place after a Freeform ep on Worm Interface. strange... * * * NOW, all this may sound confusing. maybe not. but why haven't i mentioned V/Vm in all this meandering? afterall, it's supposedly THEIR Christmas release, right? (Aye!) well, i know that the VVMT003 12" is CLOSE to being ready for public consumption, so i would gather that it will see the light of day before december. so, that's "out of the question" methinks. ANYONE ELSE have any ideas on this? don't say Mask 03 either! (that's soon, right?) * * * like the rest of you, i hate the LIMITED aspects of this music - both in quantity pressed and the AMOUNT of information we ACTUALLY know about these labels. we all want MORE of it. true? (greedy bastards aren't we?) YET, at the same time, maybe for some bizarre and twisted reason, i love the MYSTERY behind it all (espcially the mask series - stu@mfr can attest to this). it think it's just fucking amazing how these tiny labels can have the idm world by the balls and have their way....leaving us to merely sit by our turntables saying "HOLY SHIT, this unfathomable!" (well, you can add your own adjective) more ramblings by... - asg
