Yes, your on the right track with this technique only if your paying strict attention to the vinyl. Don't set it out... go have a drink... play a few rekkids...then OH MY GOD! MY VINYL!! I suggest using a hair dryer. This is a much more controlled medium. I've have saved many a peoples vinyl with this technique (mostly DJ's who THINK they know what they're doing).
