Hmmm, never thought I'd see Derek's name next to idm.... Anyway, he's a European free-improv guitarist that's in his 50s or 60s and he started practicing to some London pirate radio station that was playing jungle (yep, a while ago back when it wasn't d & b) and then got together with John Zorn to put an album of this out. Unfortunately, the guy behind Derek is DJ Ninj, who lays down some of the *lamest* beats. :-( But I'm a Bailey fan, so I love listening to his skronknoise along with anything, even Ninj's dullass programming, so I'm a bit biased. It *is* a fairly short album (only about 45 minutes) for the money, so take my opinion for what it's worth. cya brian np: D.J. from _Lodger_ - appropriately
