Stacey is of a new breed of Detroit artists making a name for himself with Transmat Records. Silent Phase has a more organic feel to it than any other Detroit record I own. It is built upon the traditional 4/4 beats that the Detroit guys use, but it is rounded out with a more 'afrocentric' (for lack of a better word) and earthy vibe. It's a good album, but it's not really one for the dancelfoor. If you're into the more moody Detroit sound (like some of Carl Craig's stuff) than you will probably like this. Actually this album has more of an upbeat positive feel than the usual melancholy I find on a lot of Detroit records. You should check out Sigma6.com.(in their portfolio section). They are a new madia agency who made the Transmat website and put a really cool Shockwave movie about Stacey Pullen in it. Nate On Thu, 12 Jun 1997, 0 wrote:
