This is far more relevant for people in the U.S or Canada. But whoever you are, feel free to read on. Jeff Leading with the Left Foot Style, ou Il faut etre FUNKY The following is a communique from your friendly neighbourhood ninjas to let all of you know that your favourite U.K. Beatz conglomerate has found a new home in North America. Ninja Tune Records' home office in London is proud to announce it has established an office on our fair continent in order to further ensure that all the Hedz on this side of the Atlantic have easy access to The Stuff. Having enjoyed a fruitful relationship with Instinct / Shadow Records in New York for the last while, both organizations have agreed that the time has come to move on (although Instinct/Shadow will still retain the rights to all Ninja Tune product that they have released to date under the banner of Ninja Tune U.S.A). Hence Ninja Tune U.K. has decided to open an extension of the U.K. office itself for all of North America. Ninja Tune North America will service the U.S. and Canadian marketplaces with all forthcoming full length Ninja Tune and N Tone releases at domestic prices. Through special arrangement with distributors all import LP's, 12"'s and CD singles (again, except those that conflict with Instinct/Shadow releases) will also be available in these marketplaces at cheaper prices. The promotion for these UK releases will be done out of this office as well. Moreover, the North American release schedule will directly parallel that of the U.K.'s, guaranteeing that all Ninja Tune and N Tone releases will be immediately available over here. Basically kids... You're Sorted! Here now follows the Ninja Tune / N Tone release schedule till the end of the year: 1. N Tone is proud to present Neotropic's first full-length release Fifteen Levels of Magnification on double vinyl and CD. Release date is September 23 for the double LP, October 7 for the CD (available domestically). 2. Ninja Tune unleashes the remix twelve-inch and CD single from Funki Porcini's Love, Pussycats and Carwrecks LP entitled the Carwreck e.p. . It features two tuff experimental drum 'n bass remixes from the illustrious Wagon Christ (Luke Vibert) and the infamous Squarepusher (Tom Jenkinson), along with an unreleased midtempo jazzy break number not featured on the LP. Both formats are set for release on September 30. 3. Russia's (well sort of, he was born there but now resides in the UK) foremost hip-hop exponent DJ Vadim unveils his experimental adventure into the down-low entitled USSR Repertoire. The double vinyl is slated for October 14 and CD (available domestically) for October 21. Vadim and his magical upside-down turntable will be coming over to teach us all the true meaning of Flip-Flop sometime in the new year. Be prepared to do the Vadim shuffle (fingers ready!) 4. The Herbaliser strikes back with a twelve-inch / CD single release called Mr. DJ, which features a DJ Vadim remix of 40 Winks on the B-side. Release date for both formats is October 28. 5. Debut Ninja 12" release from Amon Tobin (aka Ninebar's Cujo), due to hit these shores on November 18th. 6. The legendary Coldcut lets loose with two fierce mid-tempo breakbeat excursions entitled Boot the System and Atomic Moog (think Dick Hyman goes Superfly baby!) This 12" / CD single release contains remixes by Wagon Christ, The Herbaliser, and Warp's red-hot jazz combo, Red Snapper. 7. N Tone presents the second 12" release by the mysterious Cabbageboy. Look for a 25th of November release. The preceding completes Ninja Tune's release schedule for 1996. Look for new full-length releases from the inimitable Irresistible Force and the mighty Coldcut in the new year. Stay tuned for the touchdown of Ninja Tune's legendary Stealth night in select centres here in North America starting in January of '97. Our aim is to bring different Ninjas over every month and do 4-5 shows, alternating east and west coast cities each time out.
