Glad that you enjoyed the Trawl track - I have been working under other names for a while now and the Trawl project is a very modest alternative to the more media friendly scanner material. This remix was the first Trawl release after Colin Newman of Swim/Immersion invited me to remix his work. I'm very pleased with this little piece and had some quite positive feedback on it. After a year a second Trawl record is now around, here's the details from the press release: Artist Trawl (Robin Rimbaud aka Scanner) Title Wireless Rupture Mix (Bill Laswell) Enter Exit Mix (Mick Harris) Format 12" vinyl Label Chreode Cat no. CHRE 3142-01T Dist Plastic Head Release 19 Feb 1996 "Working with source material supplied by Robin 'Scanner' Rimbaud, here working under the name of Trawl, legendary New York producer/musician Bill Laswell (Material) and Mick Harris (Scorn) deliver their radical re-interpretations of Rimbaud's sounds. Combining the trademark scanned phone conversations with a blistering slab of dub tinged electronica Laswell strips the track to a sixteen minute plus megafunk workout, whereas Harris opts for a purer approach, creating a deliriously deranged variant on trip hop melancholia." It's a vinyl only release, around 500 copies being pressed as far as I'm led to believe. There has been interest in releasing it on CD at some point too with a whole bunch of more Trawl related material, which I'll post up as soon as I ever hear word! Thanks again for the interest...
