Thu 17 KO-WRECK TECHNIQUE featuring DMC Disc Jockey champion DJ CRAZE
(Warp/Bomb Hip-Hop) with PUSH BUTTON OBJECTS (Skam/Chocolate Industries),
RICHARD DEVINE (Schematic) and WHILE (Warp) The Empty Bottle is proud to
host an event sponsored by the now local label Chocolate Industries. This
event features a live performance by the much-anticipated collaborative
project KO-WRECK TECHNIQUE. KO-WREK features disc jockey champion (DMC and
ITF, respectively) DJ CRAZE and PUSH BUTTON OBJECTS' own EDGAR FARINAS. Both
are well-regarded figures in the tech-hop industry, and they've worked with
the proverbial who's who of electro-improv composers. FARINAS' output as
PUSH BUTTON OBJECTS includes not just original material; he's known as a
capable remixer as well. (His joints are rocked regular by the likes of
RICHARD JAMES and Q-BERT...) RICHARD DEVINE is a well-regarded remix
specialist and his most recent work is a remodeling of an APHEX TWIN cut
featured on Warp's fantastic '+3' box set. WHILE is the first Amerikan
signed to Germany's prestigious Musik Aus Strom label. His moody trip/hip
hop-isms should strike a chord of melancholia and his varied use of styles
ought to suit this event rather well. (10pm, $10)
