plastikman, "concept 96": yep, minimal dub-techno in the vein of mike ink's "studio 1" output plastikman, "consumed": minimal and chain reaction-influenced; no acid to be found. think "the idea of north" (props to glen gould), stark and arctic. >> concept v(?) - mixed by thomas brinkmann, concept played at

on this front, i just have to say, "no, no, no, no, no!" (no disrespect to spaul)-- but i've been listening to it on headphones and it's completely... consuming. wraps you up in stereo, appropriates your pulse, commandeers your whole cardio-vascular being. (for a better indication of my view of its effects, check my review at http://www.urbansounds.com/home/styles/experimental/thomas_brinkmann-concept96.html) my dos centavos... phil ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com

I agree with Philip. The Concept Brinkmann remix cd is breathtaking with headphones. The stereo sounds just swirl around your head. I have no other release that has the same effect. -->-Lance--- p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states

Not having heard this particular release, I can't comment on *that* - but being a firm headphone head, I cannot imagine how something can sound good played out but NOT on cans? How's that? Especially anything dub-heavy with hard panning / echoes / delays etc. works wonderfully - soundstaging plays off like a movie in your brain. I * np : the Beastie Boys / In sound from way out.

hmmm I'll have to give it another go then...it was starting to give me a headache, it's too "left justified"..I just found it works far better on a stereo.....but I'll try it again :) spaul np:maurizio cd comp.

well with this release I found it too heavily focused on the left which bothered me, my right ear had nothing to do, but on speakers it all just swirls around and is absolutely amazing..my theory is that headphones are too 'focused' because they're right there on your head. whereas the speakers project out to the room first then your head.....but then again I seem to be the only one with this problem :)

I totally agree....I'm going to try the Brinkmann release again but it just _really_ bothered me on headphones-which is a first btw. spaul
