I have a carefully collected binder full of sample CDs from the 1990s,
that were ripped, uuencoded and posted to Usenet News, then decoded at
home and burned to DVDR and CDRs.
I go to them sometimes. I also have like 1/2 a terabyte of samples
all sorts, some even legitimately acquired.
Oh and I think archive.org is a great source
