i've been grooving lately to a comp a picked up a few weeks ago: freezone 4 / dangerous lullabies. it's on crammed / SSR. i'm not familiar with the prior 3 releases, but i like this double CD comp quite a bit. not sure what the M.O. of the comp is, 'cuz it's a tasty blend ranging from coolbreeze trip hop (basement jaxx, only child, dimitri from paris, thievery corp) to proto-D&B (jimpster, funky porcini, flytronix) to waist DEEEEEEEP basic channel dub (rhythm & sound) to smooooooth atmospheric jazzy techno (carl craig) to funkengruven techno (morgan geist, stasis). i even found the yummy & funny treva whateva: tum and waist with the bitchin' old calesthenics samples which i'd been looking for since i heard it on the radio in belgium earlier this year. anyway there's a nice little plaid track "boneskin" under the alias "crewmutiny" featuring the tuntablism of scratch daddy addy. there's one of those multimedia thingy's too, but i haven't gotten it out of my car deck long enough to slip it in the old 'puter yet. worth searching out............ All of the other Freezone compilations are amazing! They are definitely worth getting. Definitely! Freezone 2 is the best of them all (in my opinion) on it are: CD1- DJ CAM- Dieu Reconnaitra les Siens APE- Snake's Pass Black Star Liner- Harmon Harroot Sentinel- Pulse of Life YBU- Alma de Bruja D*Note- Solomon's Dub The BAllistic Brothers vs. The Eccentric Afros- Jam Jah Abacus- A Place Called Time The Mighty Bop feat. E.J.M- Freestyle Linguistique Daddylonlegs- The Fourth Way T Power vs MK Ultra- Mutant Jazz ANI- Morning Factory CD2- The Solid Doctor- Lights on the Vibe SIN- Where Shall I Turn? Josh Winx- An Open Mind Move D- Mirage 4 Hero- Escaping Categories More Rockers Association- Dream LTJ Bukem- Rainfall Snooze- The Spy From Ankara Hector Zazou & Harold Budd- Pandas Tandem Gerd- Easin' in the S-Sytem Heights of Abraham- E.V.A. Described as "A Journey through the prodigious world of New Chill-Out, trip hop, atomospheric jungle, ambient techno and dubby abstract jazzy grooves... based on Lysergic Factory, the all encompassing radio show by DJ Morpheus" All can say is get this! If you like the chill the mellow and the laid back (with a bowl of course) this is definitely for you. I end up sounding like an advert but whatever 'cause this disc is great I have all the other comps except Freezone3 which I didn't like. Fin Precise (sorry for the bandwidth)
