While surfing I bounced to: http://www.crammed.be/ssr/ssr167pg.htm ++++++++++++++++++ out soon compiled by original freestyler DJ Morpheus the third yearly essay on the state of chill consists exclusively of tracks specially created by 23 of today's finest techno, house, jungle & abstract hip hop producers Three things about Freezone 3: 1 Each of the participants has produced a new track exclusively for FZ3 (except for three of the pieces, which are exclusive remixes of already-existing tunes). Consequentely the making of this album involved an exciting element of surprise, and the end-result offers one of the widest selections available of original tracks. Also, it's amusing to look at FZ3 as the participating artists' individual and collective interpretation of what the Freezone series is or could or should be about... 2 Thanks to DJ Morpheus' matchmaking skills, FZ3 is graced with three unusual collaborative efforts: Snooze vs DJ Cam, Mixmaster Morris vs Jonah Sharpe, and Mike Paradinas (µ-ziq) vs Luke Vibert (Wagon Christ/Plug). 3 Unlike its predecessor (*), FZ3 contains very little so-called trip hop, but a much higher toe-wiggling factor, with a noticeable proportion of home-listening house. Brothers and Sisters, the time has come to Sit Up and Dance ! (*) Freezone 2, also compiled by DJ Morpheus, was one of the very first albums which laid down the foundations of freestyle (in the current sense of the word), with its heady mixture of atmospheric jungle, jazzy abstract hip hop (trip hop to you) and cool techno. As for Freezone 1, it inaugurated the now-classic series by weaving together diverse strands of ambient music (classical, technoid and experimental). freezone 3 : horizontal dancing Compiled by DJ Morpheus Sequenced by Marc Hollander, Vincent Kenis & DJ Morpheus Edited by Vincent Kenis Design and image by pop X studio SSR 167 2CD and 5LP limited-edition boxed set Tentative release date: 28 May CD Track List CD1 1 PHUME "So Many Times" 2 FILA BRAZILLIA "Bulls Dozing" 3 LOS JUGADEROS "Your Mind" 4 JMJ + RICHIE "Universal Horn Remix 96" 5 IO "Theme For A Man Who Wants To Take Over The World" 6 SNOOZE vs DJ CAM "Dub Angel" 7 CLAUDE YOUNG "Multiplicity Of Zeros And Ones" 8 BLAK CROW "Gabrielle's Horns" 9 MIXMASTER MORRIS vs JONAH SHARP "Camberwell Green" 10 NU ERA "Solar Winds" 11 HERBERT "Freeze" CD2 1 2 PLAYER "Arizona" 2 FUTURE 3 "Fumble Free" 3 KID LOOPS "Alien Resident (tha huh, huh, mellow mix)" 4 THE ILLUMINATI OF HEDFUK "Miasma (Coldcut Mix)" 5 KRUDER & DORFMEISTER "Out Of The Blue" 6 HOWIE B "Five Days" 7 GLENN UNDERGROUND "Tribe Of Benjamin" 8 PFM "The Rough With The Smooth" 9 JOSH WINK "Emissions" 10 ENVOY "Hopeless Romantic" 11 SMOOTH HELMET "Smooth Helmet (Plug Mix)" 12 PARAMETRIC "ES-30" Track list of 5LP boxed set vinyl 1 A1 PHUME "So Many Times" A2 CLAUDE YOUNG "Multiplicity Of Zeros And Ones" B1 JMJ + RICHIE "Universal Horn Remix 96" B2 FILA BRAZILLIA "Bulls Dozing" vinyl 2 A1 LOS JUGADEROS "Your Mind" A2 SNOOZE vs DJ CAM "Dub Angel" B1 BLAK CROW "Gabrielle's Horns" B2 KRUDER & DORFMEISTER "Out Of The Blue" vinyl 3 A1 GLENN UNDERGROUND "Tribe Of Benjamin" A2 2 PLAYER "Arizona" B1 HERBERT "Freeze" B2 HOWIE B "Five Days" vinyl 4 A1 THE ILLUMINATI OF HEDFUK "Miasma (Coldcut Mix)" A2 ENVOY "Hopeless Romantic" B1 IO "Theme For A Man Who Wants To Take Over The World" B2 NU ERA "Solar Winds" vinyl 5 A1 SMOOTH HELMET "Smooth Helmet (Plug Mix)" A2 PARAMETRIC "ES-30" B1 PFM "The Rough With The Smooth" B2 FUTURE 3 "Fumble Free" cd one 1.
