i like to think of idm as experimental, the thing that bugs me about most experimental is that the ppl i have seen write it really don't put much thought into it. they just play and call it music. if they do put any thought into it, then that is cool and it will probably actually sound really cool, but I haven't found very much classified as "experimental" that I could actually appreciate. That is what the "I" in IDM to me represents, "intellectual" or "intellegience", that it takes more to create AND listen to then the average genre. anyway, just a thought.
