There are actually two different "Mark Bell" people doing electronic music well these days. One Mark Bell was half of LFO with Gez Varley, did stuff with Wildplanet, has recorded for many labels including Planet E and others. The other Mark Bell operates the Shaboom label, does a lot of work with Doc Martin, records as Blakkat, etc. In simplest terms, the former-LFOer Mark Bell is working more in techno territory, whereas the Shaboom/Doc Martin- related Mark Bell is working more in house territory. It is certainly confusing when both are in the UK, sorta how Dave Clarke (the DJ/musician who did the classic "Red" series) and Dave Clarke (who helps run Soma records) both live/work in the UK.
