I think Stasis is quite wonderful, although musically Pickton seems to be
laboring under the towering shadow of the Black Dog or even B12 on whose label
he's released some stuff. Style-wise Pickton seems to be in the same vein as
Kirk deGeorgio, taking the Detroit techno sound and fudging with it, giving it
a more warm, soulful feel, perhaps. Although I've liked the past two Stasis
albums on Peacefrog, I particularly liked his Mo'Wax Excursions 12" - a bit
funkier, harder. Also you can check out the earlier stuff on the B12
Redcell/Stasis CD.
