I think Stasis is quite wonderful, although musically Pickton seems to be laboring under the towering shadow of the Black Dog or even B12 on whose label he's released some stuff. Style-wise Pickton seems to be in the same vein as Kirk deGeorgio, taking the Detroit techno sound and fudging with it, giving it a more warm, soulful feel, perhaps. Although I've liked the past two Stasis albums on Peacefrog, I particularly liked his Mo'Wax Excursions 12" - a bit funkier, harder. Also you can check out the earlier stuff on the B12 Redcell/Stasis CD. On now: The Gentle People album.
