Organic was the greatest show, I've ever seen. I thought Nasa See the light tour would always be my favorite because Aphex and Orbital were there. But Organic topped it!! This was the greatest line up, every band except Loop Guru was really outstanding. I thought the DJ sets (on the main stage) were really weak, I guess I wished someone like Jeff Mills was spinning. It all seemed to typical, I was actually surprised that they were playing such old stuff and the mixing wasn't that great. When I saw the Orb in Phoenix for the last tour, Alex was spinning for a while and his set was really good. The DJ that opened up for the Orb (Phx show, last tour), was playing really great stuff and hard. DJ Lewis was spinning everything from Carl Craig - Science Fiction to RELOAD records type of techno. Enough about the Djs, I didn't go there to see them. Loop Guru was ok, nothing special. As Fresh put it, "The sort of thing Deep Forest might play if they thought they should make a techno record". They were the only questionable band there, someone should of got Aphex or The Advent to play instead. MEAT BEAT MANIFESTO was great, I thought they did a really good set. The only disappointment was that there set was kind of short and it should have been a little louder. It wasn't all electronic, they had a drummer who did a really good job. I was pretty impressed with them, it was the first time I had seen them. UNDERWORLD started with REZ which turned into Cowgirl. I didn't really like there last CD Dubnobass..., because there were too many vocals on it. At first, I didn't like the vocals, now I do. Karl Hyde (the singer) was really entertaining, he was bouncing around, acting kind of crazy. I was really blown away by Underworld, they were EXCELLENT. Now I know why everyone in the UK is going nuts over them. We almost drove up to San Francisco to see them again the next night. I definitely want to see them again. The highlight of there set was Pearls Girl. THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS were the BOMB! It was a real treat to hear there new songs, I have been eagerly awaiting a new single or CD by them. I need a fix, you could say. There remix of Dave Clarke's - No One's Driving is great, it makes me crave new material even more. I saw them last year in SF, and they were great but there set was kind of short. This time it was longer, and nonstop noise and beats. My friend said it was like being in the middle of a riot. Chemical Beats was the last song before the encore, the last song started out with the Drumbeat from the Life is Sweet (remix 1) and the Bassline of Chemical Beats with a Beatles sample "Love is all" ORBITAL started there set with a real soundtrackish song, sounded like something you would hear in a James Bond movie. I saw them once before, but they were so different this time. They were so good, that they sent chills down my spine. I didn't get a chance to give the new CD a good listen before the show, so I didn't know what to expect. Everything they played was great, I really liked it when they played The Box, it sounded so cool. I was extreme impressed with them. I didn't really care for their use of Belinda Carlisle in Halcyon, oh well. THE ORB were really experimental that night. I just saw them not that long ago, and thought I knew what to expect. It was nothing like the other show, completely different. They even played started doing some drum and bass in parts of this dub song. They didn't play anything off the last CD, I don't know if he was playing new music from a future release or just experimenting. We stayed until 6:00 am, I really wanted to stay until the end of the Orb set, but we were beat. It was a great event, I hope they do another one. I get so frustrated reading about all these great shows in Europe, it nice to finally go to something like this. And an added bonus, a friend taped the show from KROQ, now I have some Live Chemical Brothers to listen to. To cherish the event. I don't have any live Underworld, did they play it on the air. Does anybody have a good recording of it, if they did braodcast it? B i l l S a m u e l s w l s @ U . A r i z o n a .
