The original is ten times better... But while we're on the topic of remixed songs, here's my pick: Depeche Mode - Master & Servant (The ON-U-Sound Science Fiction Dance Hall Classic) Camouflage - The Acid Commandment (My Very First Acid House Song (tm)) The Orb - Perpetual Dawn January MkII Mix (major life decisions have been made whilst listening to this) Curve - Rising (Headspace Mix, done by FSOL) Psychic TV - Turn On (To Thee Acid House) (Razormaid Mix) Stone Roses - Fools' Gold (Bootleg Guy Called Gerald Mix) I could probably sit here for days typing. Back to your regularly scheduled Aphex-drool. Brian p.s. - the new Underworld is Fantastic, with a capital F.

I agree, though "razormaid remixes of crap songs" could start a whole new thread :-) (not that Turn On is crap... it's one of my faves!) My heart will always have a place for razormaid because of their ability to turn the mediocre into excellence. Some examples include "On the Beam" (hubert kah? I'm not sure), the entire "how slow can u go" disc, etc... Funny note: Right after they came out (and before I'd met anyone involved), Twitch Rexix service was introduced to me (by Turntable Mary's in Portland) as 'the new razormaid project'. Ha ha. I think I told Mike this story but I'm not sure... it was a couple yrs. ago...

Oh yeah, forgot to mention it but one of my favorite mixes of a song (though the song didn't suck to begin with...sorry :-) is the "Your love takes me Higher" Crillum Willum mix on the Beloved's "Time after Time" CD5. -H- (BTW, the penultimate shitty-original-awesome-remix has got to be "One Voice" by Brothers and Systems. Unbelievable.)

I always liked their track selection -- heavy on the eurotrash -- but it's rare for me to like their mixes better than the original versions. They shoveled out a lot of pathetic cut-and-paste crap. There *is* the occasional gem, though, and if you've never heard the original mix you usually don't notice how nothing the remixes are. :-) -- Lazlo (lazlo@unm.edu)

Yeah, I know other people who feel the same, but for some reason I like a lot of the razormaid mixes. -H-
