I'm looking for electronic music that makes heavy use of harpsichord (or harpsichord-like) sounds. For example, Arovane's "Tides" album - most (all?) of the tracks feature a synthesized harpsichord. Any track/album recommendations?

Ceephax - Camelot Jostle; from Exidy Tours Orbital - The Box; from In Sides That's all I got for now. Doubtless there's tons more. The Ceephax is top notch. Marty Abelcain just put out a record of all electronic Harpsichord stuff on Zhark called "Harpsicorpse". It's a departure from his other material, but its very good. --- WRECKED electronic music mailorder http://wrecked-distro.com -----Original Message----- From: Greg Benedicto [mailto:gbenedicto@twcny.rr.com] Sent: Wednesday, November 16, 2005 9:13 AM To: IDM List Subject: [idm] A Call For Harpsichords I'm looking for electronic music that makes heavy use of harpsichord (or harpsichord-like) sounds. I always thought that Flicklife just sounds like guitar (which then mutates into straight synth sounds). A great track, don't get me wrong, but I wouldn't call it harpsichord. Esp if someone's gonna tell me that The Box is zither!! ;) Even better is the trombone version of Flicklife buried there in the empty space at the end. But that's getting even further away from harpsichord. There's the "Suite for Harpsichord" LP by Harpsicorpse (aka Abelcain) on Zhark. Matt --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

It'll probably get me tarred, feathered and run out of town by the idm snobs[1], but how about the second part of Higher Than The Sun (a dub symphony in two parts) by Primal Scream? David [1] unless the Weatherall connection gets me off the hook -- "And then what do they do?" "Er, quadratic equations mostly, sir. Fiendishly difficult ones by all accounts."
