Hi- I've just joined this group, and I've posted some recent ambient tracks on myspace.com http://www.myspace.com/curvlinear please feel free to offer feedback. I've also started a composers group in Pittsburgh- The PCAC (the Pittsburgh Consortium of Ambient Composers), and we've been given permission to book shows at a local contemporary art museum called The Mattress Factory. If anyone is passing through Pittsburgh, contact me through e-mail and I will do my best to book you there. If I have enough lead time, I can arrange to have your work shown with the work of professional video artists. Thanks, curvlinear __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Hey guys, I'm not sure if you heard about this yet http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20050718/wr_nm/media_newscorp_dc_2 Fox bought myspace.com Read the MySpace TOS regarding the sharing of rights with MySpace.com, if NewsCorp buys, they will share in the rights to whatever materials you upload to their servers. This includes written passages, images, photographs, MUSIC... Do you really want your materials owned by the largest media conglomerate to use at their will free-of-charge? By posting Content on any public area of MySpace.com, you automatically grant as well as represent and warrant that you have the right to grant to MySpace.com, an irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, fully paid, worldwide license to use, copy, perform, display, and distribute such information and content to MySpace.com and that MySpace.com has the right to prepare derivative works of, or incorporate into other works, such information and content, and to grant and authorize sublicenses of the foregoing. Thanks for the thoughts. If I made a type of music that I would expect to live on ever in my life I would indeed pull my stuff from there. There's also the idea of "Fox" who in my opinion is right up there with Satan. However, the idea that Fox would use my ambient wacky music for something is almost enough for me to put up even more. Imagine it, fox breaks to emergency news coverage.. and Ambient IDM from myspace is playing! Hell if i knew fox was going to use my music I would've send them a cd a long time ago. Ok, I've had too much vodka tonight. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Your shit is not going to be used on FauxNews to promote whateverthehell the new neocon issue is, for another. "non-exclusive" Which means that you're still free to do whatever the fuck you want with your own stuff anywhere else. Doesn't seem all that heinous to me, though I still think Murdoch is the personification of corporate evil. forel elitist fuck On Jul 27, 2005, at 12:45 PM, egyptian zombie robot wrote:

yeah, i agree the new ToS is much less overreaching than the one Jon posted earlier. But in researching it further: - the change was rather recent - they've been deleting posts on myspace.com discussing concerns about the ToS my layman's interpertation of the current ToS seems to be more legalize for: you posted it on the site we're allowed to display it... -xenlab On 7/27/05, Anthony Cary <forel@mac.com> wrote:
