those EPs are the best stuff that cylob ever put out... lots of glitches, squelches and banging+pounding... but also lush tracks like on caustic, that track 'cordiaton' (or something like that) and 'on a romance tip' ... also try 'industrial folk songs'... i think it's 1st cylob EP (as cylob)... now that's pounding beats... :-) or you can easily buy that 'previously unavailable on CD' compilation that feature most of tracks from that EPs... brilliant stuff!! --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

The cylobian sunset album also has some shining moments. I had picked it up a long time ago and sort of dismissed it, but after finding it and listening to it again, there's definitely some great stuff there. Cylobian Sunset is, to me, an absolute classic that harkens back to those golden days of yore(tm) during the mid-90s. God, I miss those days. My favorite track might have to be 'I left my heart in syntax error.' The title alone was worth the cost of that disc. Heh. I think Cylobian Sunset was the second Rephlex disc I ever owned. The first being Feed Me Weird Things, due to Gonzi's incessant hyping of that album. Not that it was undeserved hype, of course. Later, Alan P.S. I have to say that Cylob's Mood Bells really didn't do anything for me, and I was harshly disappointed about that. I look forward to the day (probably in vain) when Jeffs drops some more of that old school IDM on us. Quoting EggyToast <eggy@eggtastic.com>:

the 'previously unavailable' ep is lacking cylob's best track from those two Kinesthesia EP's: Church of Pain!!!! That track is incredibly awesome. awesome awesome awesome. that song alone is worth getting the Kinesthesia EP 1. For about 3 years the two EP's sat on the lonely shelves of Mod Lang going unnoticed, too (original pressings). But not anymore. -mark qwerty wrote:
