hello to the knights who say 'idm'! i want to start doing dj mixes sort of thing with my mp3 collection, and i'd like someone to recommend some software (free or soulseek downloadable). i'm a total newbie, having touched real vinyl maybe 3 times in my life, so i want to start with some really easy and intuitive stuff. thanks!! hasta luego __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? In the new grooves mag there's an article on Traktor 2.0 (digital dj app)...it's sounds interesting, but you need two soundcards to use the cue feature. I'm sure it beats lugging around a bunch of vinyl tho. -kaiser-

as for me, I say vinyl carries a certain amount of mysticism to it, I almost prefer it to digital stuff. I recommend Final Scratch, which is a rad way to use turntables and a mixer with your mp3's. It uses specially formatted records to control mp3's on your box. Really neat to scratch samples you can't find pressed, unless you've got a vinyl cutter, or a real good connection for a short run or two. I say it's the best for actual live mixing. Anything else would be uncivilized... Jesse
