absolutely, i dont think that anyone is really arguing against "support
the artists you like" ... i just wish that labels would embrace donation
systems so that mp3 sharers could give back. there once was a website
where you could donate to artist who registed themselves there, but i
htink labels got pissy since it was in essence as rubber stamp of
approval for file sharing from the artists. anyone know the url for
that? does it still exist?

well, except that many people, like myself, believe that free trading of
information helps the artist in the end, but there is a massive legal
and public relations campaign that is branding music sharers as pirates,
which i find very offensive. further, i think its motivated by people
who have a vested interest in keeping things the way they are. i think
people should be clammering to adapt to change rather than fighting it.
