so i received my lovely copy of FE0000 and included with it was 'exm - modulus' i had been listening to the former a lot so i was interested to hear the latter and put it in and was immediately rewarded another great work solidly within the realm of autechre-ism, but once again bringing somehow yet another unique melodic perspective to it. has a more upbeat but still far-gazing sort of aloof vibe to it and more than enough computer trickz... i've probably listened to it 8 times in the last day or two already again when i say 'autechre-ism', i really just can't think of a clearer way to encapsulate all of what autechre does into some kind of genre name, nor do i want to imply that these other artists are 'cloning' or ripping off autechre, i think we can all tip our hats a bit to autechre for breaking ground here but the machines and technology and a community sharing ideas have really shaped what these artists sound like.
