Did anyone else catch this on Monday? It was worth it for the Grandmaster Flash/Boards of Canada mix alone. Does anyone have the tracklisting of the CD that's going to be released? Anyone have any idea why they don't use shoutcast technology to stream low bitrate mp3s instead of real audio? I think with the "out_lame" mp3 plugin for winamp, I believe one could record a streaming mp3 broadcast in real time to any bitrate they wanted. I guess I could see that as a reason in and of itself why they wouldn't use streaming mp3 technology. But, who would get hurt financially by having a bunch of solid steel mix mp3s floating around the internet? I think I have most of the shows that are floating around on audiogalaxy and morpheus, but they are badly butchered (usually only one dj at a time) and often skip. people on the http://www.ninjatune.net forum have been recording, collecting, saving & trading solid steel shows since they first started back in the late 80's. someones even got a site dedicated to the mixes - we'll try & locate the link & post the tracklisting to the list sometime laters today. nethed At 3:30 pm -0700 19/9/01, ugly and mean wrote:

Did anyone record it? I know several people emailed the show to say they were, but how about on the IDM list? I must have missed this GMF/BOC mix. I did hear the last 45 mins which was good. J. The Grandmaster Flash/BoC mix was perfect, the strings dropped in perfectly with the appropriate verse.. They must've been using more than two turntables for the show, in many of the mixes there were so many layers that it simply could not have been done with just two decks.
