ok, so the pedophile thread was entirely retarded, but BoC do seem to have
some sort of interest in the Branch Davidians (of David Koresh / Waco / ATF
/ big messy fire and everybody dies fame).
here's the deal:
amo bishop roden (a track on "in a beautiful place out in the country")
turns out to be a woman who has set up camp at the site of the former Branch
Davidian compound in Waco, TX.
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/waco/childrenofwaco1.html
she's currently involved in a legal battle for control of the property where
the Davidian compound stood:

it gets weirder:
if you take a look a the record sleeve from "in a beautiful..." the middle
picture, next to the rainbow, is David Koresh's eye. i'm not kidding. look
closely, or compare it to a full head shot of Koresh and you'll agree.
(yes, i've spent too much time looking at the record sleeve. what can i
say? - it happens to have been at the front of my record bin for a long
time - i see it every morning :-)
makes the lyrics "come and live in a religous community in a beautiful place
out in the country" all the creepier, no?
now, i'm not seriously suggesting that BoC are Branch Davidians or cultists
or anything of the sort. but, they do live on a commune (hexagon sun) and
they do seem to exhibit some paranoia about the government (i.e. - the last
track on "Music has..."), so i imagine that they might have some sympathy
for a persecuted religious minority. who knows? all in all, it hardly
matters to me - they still make some of the most beautiful music i've ever
heard. forget aphex twin, i want the new BoC album.
