this is the most wack and yet super awesome thing i have heard lately, somatic responses apparently decided to cover every possible style of 'idm' music in the space of one vast, sprawling, mega-lp -- and it's amazing. it's like 'somatic responses applies their futuristic sonic shaping style to everything, brings their own melodies and twisted sounds along and plays all your favorite tunes. i don't want to imply that these songs are ripoffs of BoC, aphex, venetian snares, pan sonic, mu-ziq, the black dog, etc, but it takes recognizable elements or techniques from all of that and then some, and across the 14 tracks of the lp manages to effortlessly cover 20+ years of music.
