so, if metallica is intelligent metal when they were good, does intelligent just mean "good" music? at that rate, *N Sync would be IDM for 14 yo girls. scaryyy ian --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Everybody has to have an opinion. Mine is that "intellegent" in defining musical genre means non-commercial music made not to fill the purses but to fill the missing gaps in the soul of musician. Met-lica before 1988 had great non-compromising music, clever if not intellegent texts and belief that they can change the world for better with their music. STRICTLY IMHO. inteligent metal? some of it is more creative/complicated etc but intelligent? I guess I can rationalize that. The engineers/mix engineers make it sound the way it does a lot of the time. Inteligent lyrics perhaps in some cases...not most. but it's all subjective so who gives... and a little info on metallica...the black albumn..the one with enter sandman was produced by Bob Rock who produced bon jovi and such acts..he's the guy who helps you make hits...I'm surprised they didn't bring desmond child on board too. After that record came out ALL of there previous records went on the charts in respectable places...and stayed there for like a year and a half. Now they are just wanking off I guess. It's all more or less shite after master o puppets as far as I'm concerned. oh, and after the black albumn...which ever one came out next..they blocked out a studio for an entire year...everyday....to write/record the albumn...aparently they took 3 weeks just setting up lars' drums only to replace them with samples on the record....so yeah they do have a shitload of money...enough to buy new livers/kidneys..whatever they need later in life... well, there that's more info about metallica than I should know and now all of you know too....sorry. ----------
