Just received a mini-album today by David Archambault
who operates under the Modulor guise. With only three
tracks, this release clings to experimental electronics,
obscure drum'n bass and minimal sound manipulations
with relative ease...
Modulor contains an abundance of dysfunctional yet
coherent beats taking you from extreme to the next while
a series of digital quirks twist in the most exhausting
fashion. But don't get the wrong impression, these tunes
work well together and will appeal to people who like square
beats, round bleeps, and octagon melodies. Think Squarepusher
meets Solenoid and Pansonic on a rainy day: Electronic music
with just the right amount of experimentation and rhythm to
keep the flow constant. Those of you who have this title already
will know that the liner notes are quite funny to read as well.
You can email David at noise@cam.org for more information.
