is it just me, or does anyone else think that m&t4 could have been one *really* good single cd, or possibly a double cd? i think three was a bit too much and the majority of the tracks on there are really mediocre...sure there were some touches of brilliance...the terre thaemlitz, snd, mouse on mars, philus were quite fantastic...however others there really dissapointing...rehberg&bauer a ryoji ikeda, two of my favorites were pretty off...and i wonder if anyone else noticed this...but it seems that although there was a noticable lack of a track by oval, it seemed as though the other artists were trying to make up for his absence...? (there seemed to be alot of oval-eque tracks if you ask me...) the first cd of the set i prefer...the others you kind of have to skip around... my neighbors are having sex again... -joshua... -joshua...

I agree that this could have easily been condensed into a 2xcd compilation and still been good but i dont mind the extra tracks because it exposes me to some artists i was not previously familiar with. Even if the tracks are sub-par, they still give me a taste of what that artist is trying to do and i can decide from there whether i want to see what else that artist has done. For me that's what compilations are all about - an inexpensive way of hearing new artists/labels without having to buy entire releaes by those artists/labels.

Yes, cd1 is my favorite as well with the tracks by Thaemlitz, Christophe Charles, Low Res, Mouse on Mars, Lithops, SND, Brinkmann, Philus, and Brusseler Platz.
