The Bjork Hunter cdep #1 of 2 does have the Funkstroung remix but it does not have the the b-side Funkstroung track from the Fatcat 12". That same Bjork Hunter cdep does contain a 7 minute remix by Mu-Ziq. -->-Lance--- p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states

The Mu-ziq mix is ok. for most of the track mike keeps it close to original but gives it more of a spooky feel by taking out the breakbeat percussion and slowing down the vocals. Mike also adds random crazy processing of bjork's vocals and the occassional addition of some sparce squelchy, crunchy rephlex-style percussion. the cdep #1 is ok but i much prefer the Fatcat 12" because ther Funkstroung b-side is so good. The second Bjork: Hunter cdep contains remixes by Beck and Gus Gus. The Beck mix is of her track called Alarm Call. He gives it's a cheesy electronic sound that's really all over the board but that's Beck's thing. The real gem is the Skothus remix of Hunter by Gus Gus. The Gus Gus guys drop almost all of the original and rework Hunter into a great 4x4 techno track sounding like something that Gez Varley or Mark Bell would come up with. I never realized that Gus Gus were so accomplished at techno. -->-Lance--- p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states

that's really wierd because the second track on my Hunter cdep #2 is a beck remix of Alarm Call called the Bjeck remix. i guess there are some different versions of the Hunter singles going around. -->-Lance--- p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states

Yup. As noted above, the UK editions of "Hunter" aren't out until October (although it's actually the 5th, not the 7th). Any copies that are out there now are likely the European edition, pressed in France I think. Greg

also worth eyeing up: the new depeche mode single, "only when i lose myself", has an incredible gusgus mix. also remixes by dan the automator (of dr octagon fame), luke slater, and dj shadow. released yesterday in the UK. * #### a disturbance in a system. #### laerm. @voicenet.com #### a fortune cookie i ate 08/06/98 told me: "a girlfriend is a wine bottle. a wife is a bottle of wine."

That's also weird because the one I have (LCDBONG29) has a Luke Slater, Dan the Automator and a Subsonic Legacy remix... Only those three. Have you got an american one? The other one (CD1) has only original DM tracks... Curiously yours Franz. http://gargamel.com/frankie -- WHEN DOGMA ENTERS THE BRAIN, ALL INTELLECTUAL ACTIVITY CEASES. - Robert Anton Wilson

Those tracks are (so far) promo only vinyl. The US release will be on 2 CD Singles (released a few weeks apart), and will have all the mixes the UK CD Singles will have. Well, actually, I was rather surprised with his remix. I expected a lot less out of him, actually, not being a real fan of his stuff and all... john
