Ok, went out to SF's excellent "Rude Metal" party last night and got my fill of garage & breaks... Anyone in the Bay Area's gotta check this night out. But I've got two questions: Layo & Bushwacka -- who are they? what label? Octagon Records -- a breaks imprint of Trouble on Vinyl? any pointers here? Many thanks, Phil

The (highly acclaimed) album is titled LOWLIFE and is put out on The End label (from the UK club by the same name). I haven't got my sticky mitts on this yet, I've tried all I might to get it ordered here in South Africa, but no go - - - everything I've heard about it points to it being pretty hot (dance-floor friendlier than your average *I*DM maybe). They are tied up (partners?) in the End Club with Mr.C (Ex- Shamen), and both are regular DJs on the Nu School breaks scene at clubs worldwide. They have recently (end of 99) had a album out named 'Lowlife' (CD Only), which I am told is very good, but not stiricky a breaks album, if that is what you are looking for.

here? Indeed it is... had about 5 or 6 12" releases so far from established drum and bass artist under new gieses and various new comers... I would head for the TOV web site for starters... but I can remember the address, check www.breakbeat.co.uk for some pointers...
