I'd still like to see The Box part 2 video...I agree if they're going to put a show like Amp on they should at least put some effort in getting new videos instead of shuffling the order of the old ones.

Uh, you show me somebody who'd be willing to front the money for a video shoot to someone who'll 1,000 records tops. There just aren't that many broadcast-quality, full-length (as opposed to just film loops to run behind the stage) techno videos out there. We've seen all the major-label-affiliated artists' pieces, and now it's time to scrape the bottom of the barrel (or wait for AMP to catch on as a marketing tool, freeing up more money from labels.) -Phil [----------] [---] [-----] [-----] [-----] [----------] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [----------] [----------] [---] [---] [----------] [----------] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [--------] [-----] [-----] [---] [-----] [----------] Home is where the stereo is!

Surely these 20 or so videos can't be *all* the electronica (*much* easier term to use/have understood than idm) videos out there! Can anybody across the pond help out on what good videos us over here in the eMpTyVee-dominated US market are missing? Actually, my partner and I have been toying with the idea of cranking out a Aphex Twin video or two just for the hell of it. Shit, we even used Ageispolis as the music on our last demo reel and it worked perfectly (sorry R&S)! We've got 10 SGI's that sit idle when we're not rendering and just haven't got around to putting together all the animation. Plus, I've got miles of the craziest video shit anyone's ever seen, from back in my digital on-line editing days. Makes those lame solarized AMP bumpers look like donkey shit! They used our stuff at the big orbital party two years ago and it was voted best visuals of the year in LA. Guess I'm going to have to send this stuff to someone?!? The question is who... peace out, brock np: Sterac - 'secret life of machines'

How about some Orb videos? I know Blue Room exists. I've never seen the Orbital video with the Rave detergent theme either. As much as I like Ken Ishii, I don't need to see that video on three different programs, play another one. Hell, even an Enigma or Yello video (which do exist) would thrill me much more than rehashed vids from previous programs. For the record...they have played CJ Bolland videos before (someone mentioned they hadn't). Did anyone find the "mix" that will be on this week a little funny [Erik B and Rakim/MARRS/Ofra Haza].Erik B and Rakim's "Paid In Full" (Coldcut's 7 Minutes of Madness Mix) remix samples Ofra Haza and numerous Ofra Haza recordings sample Erik B and Rakim. MARRS samples them both, so why not just play the MARRS video and then show some of the 1000 electronic videos that haven't been touched. MC

i think it's a cool idea. probably a lot of people don't know about it or were unaware/uninterested at the time it was actually happening. personally i haven't seen any of those videos in years, if ever. so i'm looking forward to it. -- Jon Drukman / jsd@gamespot.com

With all the great Bolland tracks....it seems like the worst song on the album got released as a single/video. Too bad. Listen to Sugar then listen to Electronic Highway...whew... T.

Didn't we agree, a long time ago, on including the words "Danger Will Robinson, Danger !!" in cases of sarcasm ? Allert -- "No corporation will ever pay a creator enough to sue them succesfully" -Dave Sim, creator of Cerebus Allert Aalders - Big Time Concepts - allert@knoware.nl - KoX

Not trying to be sarcastic, but someone needs to tell those idiots at MTV that you're not allowed to mix shit with different tempo beats (unless it's triphop and jungle;-) Either wait for the ambient intro/outtro, or don't do it! Watching amp and hearing tennis shoes in the drier sucks! If I wanted to hear shit like that, I'd let my roomate spin. word to the mothership, brock np: eat static - epsylon ep

Sorry Chris, but your wrong about this one...I'm not talking about 'maintain a certain BPM', I'm talking about trainwrecks! Sure, you can mix any tempo stuff, but that doesn't mean it's going to sound good! There is a reason they make pitch controls! In my previously chosen profession, I was a online editor. In my spare time I made triptapes/visuals for raves. We use to mix 2 stereo pairs on the master, just like MTV is doing with amp, for a continuous musical mix...but, YOU JUST CANNOT MIX BEATS WITH INCOMPATIBLE BPMS! It sounds like shit! When those amp edits came up on my tv at home, everyone in the room cringed! Like I said, tennis shoes (plus nuts and bolts) in the dryer. not cool! It's just about impossible to beatmix with video gear...so they really should stay away from it. The solution is that you can mix the ambient bits (and they did do that on a few occasions). Thats fine with me...just no more trainwrecks! peace out, brock np: U-ziq - 'Bluff Limbo'

I could not agree more, as a matter of fact I'd prefer if they even leave the ambient songs alone since the are not doing a good job of mixing them either (IMO). If I was one of those artists, I'd be pist! And while I'm at it, I think they need to move on from that Photoshop Find Edges filter stuff they run between videos. It was trippy the 1st time, but now it's annoying. peace out, -Lloyd ----------------------------- Lloyd Alvarez 3D animator/Designer http://www.shake.com/lloyd/ -----------------------------
