I've had the Massive Attack vs. Mad Professor- No Protection 12" for about 3 weeks, and just now got a tape of the previous Massive Attack Album "Blue Lines". I noticed, after listening to the tape, that the 4 tracks on the B-side of the 12", are exactly the same as 4 of the tracks on the Blue Lines album, namely: unfinished sympathy daydreaming lately hymn of the big wheel Is this a major screw up, cause the 12" lists 4 entirely different tracks for side B: eternal feedback (sly) moving dub (better things) i spy (spying glass) backward sucking (heat miser) Pertinent(?) info from the 12" label: WBRLP3 LC 3098 7243 8 40290 1 2 PM 264 BIEM/MCPS Anyone know if this is really what is supposed to be on the album, or maybe I just got a "special" version? Is the CD the same way? (if it isn't, then I'll be running out to buy it pronto before it disappears around here...) thanks for any help/info! -- guyjr@wc240.residence.gatech.edu a.k.a., Guy Elden Jr.

Sounds like a major mispressing to me - mine definitely has eternal feedback (cos its the same as on the Sly CD sinlge) and the other 3 sound like Mad Professor dubs too :) Check out the run-out grooves maybe you will see a different catalog # on the B-side. Hang on to it cos these things can turn out quite valuable sometimes... J ^ __ ___ ___ _ __ __ (__` | (_ /_\ | \ \_/ _ | .__) | (___ / \ |__/ / \_| steady-J@firefox.co.uk

The initial pressing of 'no protection' (like a few hundred copies) had this mistake, pressing the first side with the mad professor dubs, and the second with half of _blue lines_...You've got yourself a collector's item, but you're out 4 or 5 totally awesome tracks...:D mikebee <<mikebee@freenet.scri.fsu.edu <<http://organic.com/~mike <<mike@organic.com

I think I'll keep this "collector's item", mainly because the _blue lines_ tracks sound much better on the vinyl than the tape copy I have :-) I think a store around here still has the CD, so I'll just grab that sometime this weekend. -- guyjr@wc240.residence.gatech.edu a.k.a., Guy Elden Jr.

a mate in derby has the same problem. my copy is ok though. i wouldn't have thought it would be worth anything as the `wrong tracks' have been released already. but then again......... aletr tamt ------------------------------ matt isxmcd@evn1.nott.ac.uk ------------------------------ purveyor of mad lifted beats ------------------------------
