On the same line as the Keyboard magazine article, is one in the UK mag
"Future Music" (apologies if this has been mentioned before). It has one
of the best interviews with Richard James that Ive read in recent times
and talks about his customized gear to a fair degree. Also included are
some nice pics and a surprisingly good discography. If your interested in
the technology and technique behind this boy then you should definately
take a look - it includes a pic of one his homemade thingies stamped with
the afx logo and "Aphex Elec. Corp" :) Other highlights include his sound
making process and how he built a sampler in school that "only sampled
half the time, but made really good noises" Its definately worth a
look - I picked it up for $7 at Tower Books In Philly. A few questions on
the discography however than ben or someone else in the know might be
able to help with, it lists:
# Digeridoo Outer Rhythm Jan '92
and 2 releases on Mighty Force...
# Aphex Twin EP Sept '91
# AFX / Analogue Bubblebath Sept '91
thanks :)
