*this makes a good topic for a new thread though: what are your *favorite "one hit wonders"? Oh, boy. There are so many... A Guy Called Gerald - Ok, he put out more than one single, but they weren't actually succesful, were they. Mr Monday - A classic house tune from this one man house act, but what happened after that? Fortran 5 - "Heart on the Line" was a classic pop tune, but the follow ups have been, well, less satisfactory. Ultraviolet - Again "Kites" was a classic tune, but now followed with the grandiose disappearing act. Together - Remember "Hardcore Uproar"? Tuff Little Unit - I wish they had made another record (well, they made two but the second was generally unknown). 2 Men a Drum Machine - "Tired of Getting pushed Around" was probably meant to be a one hit wonder from the very start. Hardfloor - In a way they only made a one tune. But boy, was it a good one! The Age of Love - They're success was more due to Jam & Spoon than themselves, so I guess they'll be one hit wonders unless they find another pair of magic remixers. Modus Vivendi (on WARP) - or maybe it's too early to call them one hit wonders? Massive Attack - Their album was one *big* hit for me. And then nothing. Why, oh why... Joi - Baby Ford's labelmates only put out one record on Transglobal and blew me away. I hear they're active on the PA rounds, but I haven't heard of any new releases. Spill - William Orbit's pop band with an unknown female singer provided the *the* pop single of '92. Does anybody know where I could find the album (if it exists, that is). Colourbox - Classic northen house sound. Where's the rest of it? And last but not least, remember the "band" that put out "It's Grim up North"? A classic one hit wonder, if there ever was one :) cheers, samu -- "The first sign of a nervous breakdown is when you start thinking your work is terribly important." - Milo Bloom
